Make up for a first timer? Like, someone that 'never' wears make up thats starting to? I normally just experimented with make up that I liked or the colors that looked good to me. But I was young and I didn't know pink gel shadow, and glitter make up looked gross on me. lol
Well for someone thats starting out its kinda hard to get into it. Your basics of just starting would be eye liner, mascara, eye shadow, lipstick or lip gloss, and blush maybe.
Gradually get into it by wearing tinted lip gloss, and light colored eye shadows.. And if you want to you can try using eye liner. But eye liner is pretty tricky to apply, and so is mascara.
If you don't know how to apply it ask someone that knows how, maybe your friends or your mom. Make up is a good tool to use to hide imperfections such as dark under eye circles, pimples and scars if your good at applying.
I'm 21 and I normally use a concealer for my under eye circles, foundation to cover marks or to even out my skin, face powder in my skintone to set my foundation, black eye liner, blush and mascara. I don't normally wear eye shadow, but sometimes I do. I normally wear this kinda stuff when I go to work since I'm a hair dresser. You don't always need to wear foundation, thats if you must cover something like blue veines or red marks, or any other imperfections.
