How to do a make-up of a dead man?

I have a play soon and I'm the make-up artist.But I can't seem to do a make-up of a dead man,I know that the complexion should be very pale and a little bit blue but the problem are the eyes.I don't know how and what to do with them.But this is not a zombie,it's not something like halloween it's a play where few ppl lye in a coffin.How to do a make-up of a dead man?
Most people when in a coffin have their eye's closed but if you decide to leave the eyes open -the eyes themself should have a haze look to them, and I would put a slight shadowing under them but just a touch.How to do a make-up of a dead man?
maybe put some light grey/black around the eyes.
