What's the best make up to use if I want a very matte look and do you have tips?

I want a matte look. What is the best brand of make up to use. I don't want anything too expensive. I'm looking for some of the brands like Maybelline, Revlon, Max Factor, etc. that you can find at any store like WalMart.





Also- do you have any tips on how I should go about ';getting'; the look.

If you want a matte look, generally you want to stay away from liquid foundations (which will make you look more dewey) and use powders. However, it really all depends on the kind of matte look you want!





If you want the more understated matte look that's in magazines today, go with a pressed powder. One of my favorites is j.a.n.e. cosmetic's pressed powder (it's about $4). The only problem is that they don't have


much of a range in shades; if you have a skintone that's harder to match you should try Maybelline's Mineral Wear Foundation. It's a little more expensive but it's definitely worth it to have a foundation that matches your skin tone!





If you're going for a more classic, cake-y, 50s matte look, then you'll want to get some cake makeup. Maxfactor has a great cake makeup that's pretty inexpensive. With this, wet a sponge and use it to apply the cake makeup. This is really good if you want tons of coverage, but make sure to blend it out with a powder brush or you'll look plastic!





To get a matte look with your eyes, use a pencil-liner (liquid and gel liners are too shiny for a matte look). Then, with whatever shadow colors you want (I suggest using shades of purple; they look great on everyone!), make sure that none of the shadows have shimmer in them or you won't have a matte texture.





To get a matte look with your lips, you want to stay away from anything shiny and use a flat colored lipstick. I'd suggest a neutral shade. N.Y.C. has a great variety of shades and their lipstick is 99 cents!

very dramatic matte eyes-


anything covergirl on the eyes. use alot of mascara, or fake lashes. black or grey smokey liner. any eyeshadow by covergirl just use your fingers to apply alot.


lips-


red lips? if you want natrual will also work. revlon is usually where i like to get my lip sticks from because they specialize in that.

Use MAC it's the best for your skin and it's worth paying a bit of extra money for something your putting on your face. MAC foundations range from about $18 - 50 and are perfect for what you want. To get a really matt look use a damp make up brush or sponge to apply your makeup and use powder to finish!!
