I definitely wouldn't advise any make up around an area that you just had surgery on since it could potentially lead to an infection. But putting a cool compress (cold water on a small clean towel) on it usually makes the swelling go down. You could even try putting two spoons in the refrigerator and then putting on your eyes which works about the same way without the wetness. I know it sounds weird but my sister does that when her eyes swell up from allergies. Good luck!
