I need to make up a myth about how glaciers are formed, something to do with greek gods. Any suggestions?

I have to make up my own Greek/Roman Goddess. I named her Glacilicles, the goddess of ice and glaciers. I picked Boreas (actual god of cold winter air) to be her father and Arethusa (actual goddess known as ';the waterer';) to be her mother. I have to come up with a myth that talks about how glaciers are formed. Anyone have any suggestions?I need to make up a myth about how glaciers are formed, something to do with greek gods. Boreas, god of cold winter air, and Arethusa, godess of water, lived together in ________(insert name), which is now Antartica. Neptune, god of sea, came to kill Boreas for he had commited the crime of __________(insert crime.) Boreas knew his fate and sent Arethusa, pregnant with Boreas's child, underwater. She swam to an underwater cave where she gave birth to Glacilicles, godess of ice. The mermaids helped deliver the baby. Glacilicles grew up with her mother and the mermaids inside the underwater cave, and when she was older she fell in love with the merman _____(insert name.) He did not love her though, he loved the beautiful mermaid ______(insert name.) Glacilicles was angered by this rejection so she froze the mermaid in a huge block of ice and it floated to the surface. From then on, whenever she got angry she froze huge blocks of ice and shot them to the surface. If you look close enough you may find the mermaid in one of the glaciers.

how about this:


Glacilicles is a young, fair goddess who has a habit of falling for the wrong guy. every man whom she has ever given her heart to has shattered it. she is so sad that whenever she is left to pick up the pieces her sorrow takes on a physical form, that being a glacier.





also, if you don't stray too much, you could probably somehow add that the red sea is a pool of her tears, (seeing as how tears are full of salt, but ice cannot form when there is salt).

when she'd gotten punished by her parents she she is forced to stay in Antarctica or Alaska for millions of years and the whole time she stayed there she cried out snow that compressed into large, thickened ice masses aka glaciers!
