Is it illegal to sell alcohol to friends in your house, to make up the cost, without a license?

If so, is there a state where this IS legal? Is it illegal to sell alcohol to friends in your house, to make up the cost, without a license?
First off, make sure you and your friends are of legal age.

Secondly, I would think a sensible way around that would be to charge them for the CUP...and not the beer. I have been to party's where they charge you for the plastic (cheapo) dixie cup. Like $5 or so. That way you can not be in trouble for selling ';alcohol';. All you did was sell cups and the alcohol was what they chose to put in it. Just be sure to mention in any literature/flier you send to your friends or when they walk in that they are paying for CUPS!Is it illegal to sell alcohol to friends in your house, to make up the cost, without a license?
yes, you need a license to sell alcohol to anyone, even friends. You do not need a license to be reimbursed by your friends for the money you loaned them though. I recall you loaning each of your friends that came to your house about the same amount of money as what the alcohol cost, don't you?
It is illegal to re sell alcohol without a permit or license.

You can not run a store or bar out of your home even for your friends.
