They will just fade into the background like they always have. Just like they did after on 1/1/2000, 6/6/2006, etc.





Or they will continue like they were never wrong. In his book, ';The Late Great Planet Earth,'; Hal Lindsey predicted the end of the world would come in 1988, 40 years after the rebirth of the nation of Israel in 1948 and yet he is still a respected member of the Evangelical Christian community.

Let's be honest. The Mayan's made this crap up because they knew their civilization wouldn't ever strive to see this date.





I could say 10,000 AD will be the end of the world, and create a funny calender to go along with it, but does that mean it's true?





They'll have no excuses, because they never actually had a reason as to why this would happen. Relying on a Civilization that died out isn't good enough. It's not going to cut it.





Their next ';end of the world'; date will just surpass their lives so when it proves to be a fake, they'll be long dead.
Their diplomatically ignorant response, ';we are all human, we make mistakes!';





The Jehovah Witnesses have so far predicted the end of the world more than 50 times since its inception. And when confronted with prediction, they said exactly that, ';we are human, we make mistakes!





Go figure.

i know thats what im trying to say why should all of these people who are living right now should start believing in these stupid stuff about the world ending in 2012 i absolutley do not belive that and the people who made that up or anything should really stop because my little sister found out about that she belived in it
Just to note the world will not end in 2012, this may only be the begging of bad things to happen to this world but that is it, for there still is over a Thousand years before this world will be destroyed and transformed into a new world.

Oh, and the Mayans didn't ';die out';. They up and disappeared. It's still a huge mystery. But if they were around today, they'd just make a new calender.
Ask the Jehovah's Witnesses, they all gathered at Dodger Stadium to wait for the end of the world in 1975, but it didn't happen then, either.
I predict that the ';true, original'; version of the Mayan calendar will suddenly be found somewhere, but I can't speculate on what other date might be derived from that one.
i dont know, but my one boss honeslty believes that a 7 headed dragon is going to come out of the sea and end the world. hes such an idiot.

When the world dosn't end, i will say that the aliens probably took a few rest stops on the way here. It will only be a couple more light years.

I guess most of the people with egg on their faces will just try to forget it and hope no one confronts them about it. They will have to try to evade facing how dumb they've been.
They'll probably say our calendar is not in tune with the Mayan one.





Next date? My guess is 2021 - they'll just switch the numbers around.
Probably say that it was delayed a little due to some random thing, and push the date farther.
